What does the display of ALM on the temperature controller of a dry-type transformer mean
ALM means "alarm", which stands for "alarm" in English. On a temperature controller, it means "alarm".
There are several types of alarms for the temperature controller of dry-type transformers
Over temperature alarm, fault alarm, etc., each type of dry-type transformer temperature controller model and specification is different. Here is a brief description of several commonly used temperature controller alarms.
What's wrong with the temperature controller alarm of the dry-type transformer
① Set alarm type
Step 1: Enter the initial settings menu of the thermostat. After powering on the thermostat, we press and hold the menu button, and the screen will start flashing. After 3 seconds, the screen will jump into the initial settings menu interface shown on the right side of the picture.
Step 2: Find alarm point 1 option - ALT1. After entering the initial menu interface of the thermostat, you can find it by pressing the mode key.
Step 3: Set the alarm type value for alarm point 1. By using the up/down keys, change the alarm type value of alarm point 1 from the default 2 to 8
Step 4: Confirm settings and exit the initial settings menu
② Set temperature alarm value
Step 1: Find the alarm temperature value setting option for alarm point 1. In the running screen, use the mode key. Enter AL-1
Step 2: Set the alarm temperature value. Set the alarm temperature value through the up/down keys and PF data shift keys
Step 3: Press the menu button for more than 1 second to confirm the settings and return to the running screen
How to deal with temperature controller alarms in dry-type transformers
1. Common temperature control settings for dry-type transformers include automatic fan shutdown at 80 ° C, automatic fan on at 100 ° C, high temperature startup alarm at 130 ° C, and ultra-high temperature startup trip at 150 ° C.
2. Check if the temperature controller of the dry-type transformer is normal. Use an infrared temperature testing instrument to carefully measure the temperature of the transformer coil. Check if the temperature of the temperature controller is the same. If the difference is significant, it is judged that the temperature controller is damaged. The actual measured temperature should be used as the basis. If it is judged that the transformer is indeed overheating and an alarm is triggered, the following methods should be used to handle it;
3. Check if the transformer fan is turned on normally. If the fan is not turned on, it should be manually turned on. If it cannot be turned on manually, it is judged that the fan cannot operate normally. Corresponding cooling measures should be taken to cool down the transformer;
4. Smell, observe, and listen for any abnormal sounds such as explosions. During normal operation, a uniform and low "buzzing" sound should be emitted to determine whether the transformer is normal. If there is an abnormality, it indicates that an internal fault has occurred. The transformer should be immediately shut down and reported to the electrical responsible person;
5. Observing the temperature of the transformer, if it exceeds the normal operating temperature by more than 10 degrees Celsius and continuously rises under the same load, environmental temperature, and cooling conditions, it is judged that there is an internal fault in the transformer. The transformer should be immediately removed from operation and reported to the electrical responsible person;
6. When a high temperature alarm occurs in a transformer, it should be checked whether the transformer is operating under overload. If the transformer is operated under overload for a long time, it can cause the temperature to be too high, damage the transformer, and cause ultra-high temperature tripping. It should be reported to the electrical responsible person in a timely manner, and an application should be made to cut off the unimportant load, reduce the transformer load to the normal operating load, and observe the transformer temperature until it drops to the normal operating temperature. If reducing the load still cannot reduce the transformer temperature, it indicates that there is an internal fault in the transformer. The transformer should be immediately removed from operation and recorded.
