What are the possible faults of the temperature controller in dry-type transformers, and the troubleshooting methods for the temperature controller

Some brands of dry-type transformer temperature controllers may sometimes encounter various sizes of faults during operation. What are the common faults and how can they be resolved? Fuzhou Yinuo Technology will tell you the common solutions to temperature controller problems.

How to determine if the temperature controller of a dry-type transformer is working properly?

On site, connect the power line, sensing line, and fan line to the temperature controller, and observe when powered on: if the three-phase temperature display is basically balanced, there is no fault alarm, and the over temperature alarm indicator light and trip indicator light are off, press the "Manual/Auto" button on the panel by hand. If the fan indicator light is on, the fan should be started and then press the "Manual/Auto" button. The fan indicator light will light up and go out. At this time, the fan should stop rotating, and it can be basically judged that the temperature controller is working normally.

Why does the temperature controller of the dry-type transformer not display after power on?

1. Check if the power supply to the temperature controller of the dry-type transformer is properly connected.

2. Check if the power switch of the thermostat is turned on (only embedded and BWD3K series thermostats have a power switch).

3. Check if the power supply voltage of the temperature controller of the dry-type transformer is within the allowable voltage range (220VAC ± 20%=175-265VAC).

Did the fan automatically run without reaching the temperature required to turn on the fan?

1. Whether the fan is in manual startup mode, press the "Auto/Manual" button to turn off the fan.

2. The timed start stop function of the system for the fan takes effect, which is a normal phenomenon.

The fan indicator light is on, why doesn't the fan start?

1. Check if the fan wiring is correct or loose.

2. Check if the fuse on the rear panel of the thermostat is intact.

3. Check whether the wiring terminal of the temperature controller fan is active or passive (active: refers to the fan wiring terminal being able to output a voltage of 220VAC/10A when starting the fan, and the fan can be directly connected to the wiring terminal; passive: refers to the fan wiring terminal being like a switch, and the fan must be connected to an external power source on this terminal to start the fan).

4. Check if the fan is faulty (it can be determined by checking the DC resistance of each fan with a multimeter).

After manually starting the fan, cannot the fan be manually turned off?

At this point, the measured temperature value is higher than the temperature range of the fan's automatic start stop, which is a normal phenomenon.

The reason why the temperature controller of the dry-type transformer keeps resetting and the fan cannot start?

When installing and debugging the temperature controller of dry-type transformers, most of them use the backup power supply in the computer room, and the voltage is usually low. At this time, using a multimeter to measure the power supply voltage of the temperature controller is mostly caused by the power supply voltage being lower than 175VAC or lower. Due to the low voltage detection and undervoltage protection devices designed inside the temperature controller (which can effectively protect the temperature controller and fan from damage under voltage and are specially designed), it is a normal phenomenon. After the correct installation of the temperature controller, the power supply is provided by the dry type transformer through the low-voltage distribution cabinet, and the voltage in the machine room is ≥ 220VAC. The temperature controller can work normally.

Does the temperature controller of a dry-type transformer display "- OP -" in one phase (or two phases), while the temperature of the other phases is normal?

1. Check if the sensor DB9 (female) plug is reliably connected to the temperature controller DB9 (male) socket.

2. Check if there is any obvious trauma on the surface of the sensor probe and replace it with a new sensing cable.

Does the temperature controller instrument of the dry-type transformer display "- OH -"?

Check if the phase exceeds the measurement limit or if there is a significant contact resistance in the sensor measurement circuit, and eliminate the line contact resistance.

Does the temperature controller instrument of the dry-type transformer display "- OL -"?

Check if the phase exceeds the lower measurement limit or if there is a short circuit in the sensor measurement circuit, and contact the manufacturer.

Does the temperature controller instrument of the dry-type transformer display "- Er -"?

Check if there is a short circuit in the sensor measurement circuit and contact the manufacturer.

Does the buzzer not sound when the temperature controller of the dry-type transformer overheats and alarms?

1. Check if the silencing button of the temperature controller of the dry-type transformer is set to position "1" (only the embedded type has this function).

2. Check if the over temperature alarm setting value of the temperature controller of the dry-type transformer is correct.

Can the communication type dry-type transformer temperature controller not communicate?

1. Check if the communication address setting of the thermostat is correct (default address for communication type thermostats is 1).

Multiple communication type temperature controllers should be set with different address codes when working simultaneously, and the corresponding temperature controller name should be added to the "Device Management" section of the "Temperature Controller Monitoring and Management System" software.

2. Check if the communication cable wiring is correct (red wire connected to A+, blue wire connected to B -).
