1. Temperature measurement in microwave environment

Microwave is an electromagnetic radiation with a frequency range of 300MHz to 300GHz. In this environment, traditional contact temperature sensors (thermocouples, thermal resistors, etc.) are usually made of metal materials and cannot be used to measure temperature. Some metal temperature sensors processed by microwaves, although

It can be placed in a microwave field, but due to the influence of skin effect and eddy current effect, it will raise its own temperature, resulting in significant uncertainty in temperature measurement results. And the thermoelectric signal of this type of temperature sensor needs to be measured through an electrical measuring instrument with high accuracy. Therefore, even if the electrical measuring instrument can avoid the microwave environment for a short distance, its microwave influence cannot be ignored, and stable measurement is often unable to be carried out. The temperature sensor of the fluorescence temperature measurement device is made of optical fiber and belongs to non-metallic materials. The length of the optical fiber can effectively avoid interference from the microwave environment, greatly improving the accuracy of temperature measurement.

2. Applications in the medical field

The application of fiber optic sensors in the medical field has become relatively mature, commonly including fiber optic volumetric pressure sensors, fiber optic oxygen meters, fiber optic blood flow meters, and fiber optic endoscopic technology. The specially designed fiber optic temperature sensor is an advanced developed fiber optic temperature probe, with a temperature range of (35-50) ℃ and a measurement accuracy of up to 0.1 ℃. At present, the diameter of fiber optic temperature sensors such as new types of fiber optic temperature sensors is smaller than that of general thermometers, and can be used for invasive human body temperature measurement and monitoring.

3. Measurement of surface temperature

The measurement of surface temperature is a major challenge in temperature measurement, as surface thermometers are affected by heat loss from thermal conduction during contact measurement, including factors such as good surface contact, sensor coverage area, and temperature difference with the environment. If a radiation thermometer is used for non-contact measurement, it is impossible to obtain the emissivity of the surface of the measured object and accurate measurement results. Using the principle of fluorescence method for temperature measurement, sticking it to the surface of the object being measured can accurately and effectively measure the temperature of a certain point on the surface of the object, avoiding the influence of this factor.

4. Application in the power industry.

Fluorescent temperature measurement is widely used in the power industry. Common power transformers, high-voltage switchgear, high-voltage circuit breakers, and permanent magnet motors can all use fluorescent fiber optic temperature measurement systems for temperature monitoring. This not only effectively avoids temperature measurement risks caused by strong magnetic fields, strong electric fields, and conductive metals, but also enables early detection and troubleshooting of equipment overheating and overload faults.

The advantages of fluorescence fiber optic temperature measurement

Fiber optic temperature sensors made of non-metallic materials with low sensitivity to electronic activity can be widely used in situations where metal temperature sensors cannot be applied, such as strong magnetic fields and electric fields. Compared with conventional thermal conductivity temperature sensors, it has advantages such as fast temperature measurement speed, short response time, and corrosion resistance, especially suitable for temperature measurement in small and micro environments that are not easily accessible, such as micro pipelines and narrow slits.
