The principle of fluorescent fiber optic temperature sensor

A fluorescent fiber optic temperature sensor is composed of a multimode fiber optic and a fluorescent object (membrane) installed at its top. Fluorescent substances emit fluorescence energy when stimulated by light of a certain wavelength (stimulated spectrum). After the incentive is revoked, the persistence of fluorescence afterglow depends on factors such as the characteristics of the fluorescent substance and environmental temperature. This excited fluorescence usually decays exponentially, and the decay time constant is called fluorescence lifetime or fluorescence afterglow time. The attenuation of fluorescence afterglow varies at different ambient temperatures. Therefore, by measuring the lifespan of fluorescence afterglow, the ambient temperature at that time can be determined.

The temperature measurement advantages of fluorescent fiber optic temperature sensors

When measuring with conventional temperature sensors (such as thermocouples, thermal resistances, etc.) under strong electromagnetic fields, the measuring probes and wires made of metal materials generate induced currents under high-frequency electromagnetic fields. Due to the skin effect and eddy current effect, their own temperature rises, causing serious interference in temperature measurement, resulting in significant errors in temperature readings or inability to perform stable temperature measurements. Fluorescent fiber optic temperature sensing technology is currently mature and has achieved large-scale industrial production and application, with rapid cost reduction. Its advantages in the field of strong electromagnetic field environmental measurement are obvious.

Transformer temperature measurement device

According to relevant data statistics, in transformer accidents, insulation aging is caused by overheating of the windings, and transformer winding breakdown and burning accidents account for a considerable proportion. Therefore, accurate and real-time monitoring of the temperature of transformer windings and their insulation oil is a necessary condition to ensure the normal operation of transformers.

Fluorescent fiber optic temperature measurement system for transformer winding

The Inno Technology Transformer Fiber Optic Temperature Measurement System is an IF-C multi-channel fluorescence temperature measurement device, which includes multiple oil surface temperatures and winding hot spot temperatures, multiple alarm switches that can be set separately, multiple 4-20mA analog outputs, serial RS485, LAN communication interface, and other functions. Compared with traditional pointer type oil temperature and winding hot spot temperature measurement devices, it has the advantages of compatibility with the original oil temperature winding temperature measurement alarm system, intuitive temperature and alarm information, accurate temperature measurement, good stability, strong reliability, and strong scalability, meeting the requirements of future intelligent substations
