There are three types of fiber optic temperature measurement systems: fluorescent fiber optic temperature measurement, distributed fiber optic temperature measurement, and fiber optic grating temperature measurement. FJINNO offers three installation methods for fiber optic temperature measurement
1. Fluorescent fiber optic temperature measurement
The monitoring host of the fluorescent fiber optic temperature measurement system is installed in the monitoring cabinet in the control room, and a monitoring computer is set up on the operator console for remote monitoring.
Installation of fiber optic thermometer
The fiber optic thermometer is installed on the back wall of the instrument panel in the upper front of the switchgear to facilitate future maintenance.
Installation of fiber optic temperature sensors
The fiber optic temperature sensing probe can be directly installed in contact with the contact of the switchgear. The main heating potential of the switchgear is at the junction of the static and dynamic contacts, but this area is protected by an insulation sleeve, and the space inside is very limited. Therefore, the design of fiber optic temperature sensors should fully consider this issue, and the installation of accessories should consider maintaining a safe distance from the moving contacts.
The installation at the cable joint of the switchgear can be done by using special adhesive to stick the sensor to the cable joint and then using a special tie to bind and fix it.
Wiring method inside the cabinet: The cables and tail fibers inside the cabinet should be routed as much as possible along the corners of the cabinet or tied together with the secondary wires through dedicated cable trays for easy maintenance inside the cabinet in the future.
2. Distributed fiber optic temperature measurement
(1) Using distributed fiber optic temperature sensing devices to sense cable temperature and position information for signal detection and transmission, achieving no electricity detection and intrinsic safety explosion-proof;
(2) Using advanced distributed fiber optic temperature sensing as the measurement unit, with advanced technology and high measurement accuracy;
(3) Distributed temperature sensing optical cables have a long-term operating temperature range of -40 ℃ to 150 ℃, with a maximum of 200 ℃, and a wide range of applications;
(4) Adopting a single loop measurement method with a detector, the installation is simple and the cost is low; Can leave redundant spare cores;
(5) Real time display of temperature in various zones, and the ability to display historical data and change curves, as well as average temperature changes;
(6) The system has a compact structure, simple installation, and convenient maintenance;
(7) Through software, different warning and alarm values can be set according to actual situations; The alarm methods are diverse, including constant temperature alarm, temperature rise rate alarm, and temperature difference alarm. (8) Through software, data can be queried: point by point query, alarm record query, interval query, historical data query, and report printing.
3. Fiber Bragg Grating Temperature Measurement
In power plants and substations, fiber optic grating temperature measurement systems can be used to monitor the temperature of cable interlayers, channels, and cable tunnels, playing a role in monitoring power cables. At this time, it is necessary to attach fiber optic sensors for temperature measurement to the surface of the cable, obtain real-time data on the surface temperature of the cable through the fiber optic grating temperature measurement system, and draw relevant curves together with the current flowing through the cable to calculate the temperature coefficient of the core wire in the cable. Based on the difference between the surface temperature of the cable and the temperature of the core wire, the relationship between the current and the surface temperature of the cable can be obtained. This relationship can provide a reference basis for the safe operation of the power system
