Fluorescent fiber optic temperature measurement and distributed fiber optic temperature measurement are both technologies that use optical principles for temperature measurement, but their working principles and application scenarios are different.
FJINNO fluorescence fiber optic temperature measurement
Fluorescent fiber optic temperature measurement is based on the principle of fluorescence lifetime afterglow for temperature measurement. Usually, fluorescence fiber temperature measurement requires fixing the fluorescence fiber on the surface of the object being measured, and exciting the fluorescence fiber through a light source to measure the fluorescence lifetime and other parameters emitted by the fluorescence fiber. Then, based on these parameters, the temperature of the object being measured is calculated. Fluorescent fiber optic temperature measurement is usually suitable for measurement scenarios that require insulation and high voltage resistance in electromagnetic interference environments, such as high-voltage switchgear, transformers, microwave electromagnetic environments, etc.
Distributed fiber optic temperature measurement utilizes the characteristics of the fiber optic itself to measure temperature through reflection and scattering inside the fiber optic. Distributed fiber optic temperature measurement usually requires placing the fiber optic around the object being measured, and exciting the fiber optic through laser or LED light sources. Then, based on the scattering and reflection characteristics of the light signal inside the fiber optic, the temperature of the object being measured is calculated. Distributed fiber optic temperature measurement is suitable for situations that require long-distance, continuous, and high-precision temperature monitoring of the measured object, such as temperature monitoring of building structures such as oil and gas pipelines, tunnels, bridges, etc
