1. Fiber optic measurement of hot spot winding temperature
Under overload conditions, transformers are most susceptible to damage. Therefore, monitoring the hot spots in transformer windings is crucial as it can protect your transformer from damage and excessive use. The lifespan of transformers is directly related to the lifespan of internal insulation paper. The lifespan of insulation paper is directly affected by high temperatures, and the highest temperature on the winding is the hot spot of the winding, which is the location where the insulation paper will first deteriorate. The conventional temperature measurement method simulates or indirectly calculates this temperature value, which cannot accurately measure the actual temperature. The only effective way to know the actual temperature value is through real-time measurement using optical fibers. Our reliable and accurate fiber optic temperature measurement device can quickly detect and provide feedback on hot spot situations, trigger alarms and relays to protect your important assets.
2. Principle of Fluorescent Fiber Temperature Measurement
The fiber optic module emits excitation light to the fluorescent powder (temperature sensitive material) at the end of the fiber optic. After the excitation light is turned off, the fluorescent powder returns fluorescence (afterglow). The fiber optic module detects fluorescence, which is related to the ambient temperature of the temperature sensitive material.
3. Characteristics of Fluorescent Fiber Temperature Measurement
3.1 Complete dielectric materials and complete immunity to EMI
3.2 Fiber optic temperature measurement does not require recalibration
3.3 Thermal, chemical, and mechanical properties in accordance with transformer environment
4. Fluorescent temperature measurement device for oil immersed transformer winding
Specially designed for power applications, this new type of transformer internal temperature monitoring device is very suitable for transformer winding hot spot temperature measurement. It can directly, real-time, and accurately measure the temperature of windings and other hot spots, and can achieve comprehensive monitoring of the internal of transformers. In addition to having a wide temperature measurement range and accurate and reliable temperature measurement performance, it also has excellent anti EMI/RFI (electromagnetic interference/radio frequency interference) characteristics, high-voltage insulation, and anti-interference performance. Real time and accurate monitoring of "hot spot" temperature during dynamic load operation can be achieved. Solved the problems of low safety, poor measurement accuracy, and temperature measurement failure using traditional electrical temperature measuring instruments in electromagnetic environments.
By comparing several hot spot temperature measurement methods for transformer windings, it is found that the method of using fluorescent fiber optic sensors to measure transformer windings not only measures the true temperature of the transformer winding, but also has high measurement accuracy and good system stability
